Reduce Carbon Foot Print
Vopak Horizon Fujairah employees observed World Environment Day on the 5th June 2015. The objective of the day is to create awareness of the greenhouse gas emission and its implication to the environment. Carpooling was one of the initiatives to leverage on this concept to reduce carbon footprint. Some colleagues carpooled to come to the terminal. One of our colleagues walked 8 km to the office on this day in an effort to reduce carbon foot print.
Cees de Greve, General Manager of Vopak Horizon Fujairah started the day’s session with an opening speech which was followed by a presentation from Ninan John, Maintenance Manager highlighting the environment related initiatives at the terminal. To offset some amount of Carbon footprint of the terminal, two trees were planted at the office premises itself. An environment related quiz program was conducted and the winning team received a trophy. Other games themed on Environment related topics were organized for all the participants. The event was informative, filled with lot of interactions and fun.
