Another important milestone was achieved in the annals of Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd. when the new jetties 5 & 6 were commissioned by berthing the first ships in December 2009. The addition of berths 5 & 6 to the infrastructure of Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd. enhances its capabilities and provides more flexibility to its operations. The waiting time of vessels will reduce considerably because of the additional berths, which will help a great deal in serving our customers better.

The first vessel Hugli Spirit, under the flag of Bahamas with an LOA of 183 mtr berthed in Berth 5 on 20th December 2009. Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd. General Manager, Walter Moone, Operations Manager Raj Krips and Loading Master Rolly De Chavez presented a memento to Captain Sameer Vajandar and crew of the vessel Hugli Spirit.

On 29 December 2009, berth 6 followed with the arrival of vessel Cielo Di Londra, with an LOA of 183.05 mtr.

Good preparatory work by the Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd Project team and the Operations & Maintenance departments vis-à-vis checks, inspection, coordination and communication with Port of Fujairah resulted in a smooth and incident-free berthing in both the Berths 5 & 6.
