At Vopak Horizon in Fujairah, on 5 March, a service day was held for all staff, under the motto Passion to Deliver. The day started with an inspirational speech by General Manager Walter Moone, during which the importance of service and the Vopak Service Principles were explained.
As part of the program, colleagues performed various sketches, based on our Service Principles. That was fun, but more importantly, extremely identifiable. Furthermore, there was a guest speaker from Fal Oil, one of Fujairah’s customers, who discussed service from the customer perspective. There was also a guest speaker from the Le Méridien hotel chain. In the hotel sector, service and customer-focused thinking are also of great importance and it was remarkable to hear how much overlap there is with our Service Principles. The very successful day was brought to a close with a joint ‘Service Pledge’ and a lunch, which was served by colleagues. This was a day that proved how great it is to be service-focused.
