In December 2011 the land reclamation project for Vopak Horizon Fujairah was completed safely and successfully. The reclamation project included protection of the SPM Fuel Oil pipelines and the trestle. With the completion of this project, Vopak Horizon adds another 26 hectares to the existing plot of 42 hectares. This new plot of land will allow Vopak Horizon to realize its ambitious growth plans in the coming years.

With the handover of the land, the Fujairah Northern Land Reclamation Project (FNLRP) executed by the Fujairah Municipality was completed. The project was immediately rolled over to a next phase of land reclamation where another stretch of 300 meters of seafront land is reclaimed connecting the FNLRP to the new OTB berths in the Port of Fujairah. Vopak Horizon has committed to the lease of an additional 21 hectares in this second land reclamation project. Estimated time of completion of the second phase of the land reclamation project is June 2012.
